Introduction
Two weeks ago we talked about how writing exercises can help with your creativity. This week, I will recommend more exercises so you can keep challenging yourself to write better!
6- Write From Multiple Perspectives
Write a new or existing story from multiple perspectives. It can be a scene for your favorite book or movie, a story someone has told you, something that happened in your life, or a new story!
Take the facts and then write what the people involved must have felt when that happened. Did they like it? Did they agree with it? Did it affect how they see the world? Did it affect how they interact with others? Do they know what others think about it? Anything is fair. Try to be as descriptive as possible of the characters’ feelings and how that specific situation impacted them.
7- Describe Your Surroundings or A Person
Books need as much description as possible. Readers must get a feel for a character or a place just by the words you write, so be as descriptive as possible. Whenever you can, try using words that are very particular. They don’t have to be hard words that people have probably never heard before, but if they can describe or define something very specific, your readers will get a better feel for what you are trying to say.
For this exercise, try to set the scene by describing your surroundings or someone. Pay attention to visible characteristics, as well as what the person or place evokes and expresses.

8- Free Writing
Write anything and everything that comes to mind. No particular topic or style, no rules! Let your imagination run wild and free. This will help “unlocking” your brain and come up with valuable content, such as prompts for future stories or questions about what you wrote.
If you have no idea of where to begin, start exactly what you are thinking, word for word. A lot of people start this exercise by writing something like “I have no idea of what I should write. Why is that?” and then start unraveling more and more thoughts.
9- Writing Prompts
Writing prompts, we love them! Easy to find, great to write about. As the name says, it is a prompt, an idea to get you writing. If you want to learn more about Writing Prompts, check this blog I wrote and if you want writing prompts examples, check this Pinterest board of ours.
